SAS Reports 2012 Revenue

Today, SAS reports worldwide revenue of $2.87 billion in 2012, up 5.4%.

Putting this in perspective:

• IBM reports business analytics software revenue up 13%
• SAP reports total software, subscriptions and services-related revenue are up 17% 

The press release mentions SAS High Performance Analytics (HPA), SAS’ marquee product (now thirteen months old and in its second release) and cites twelve customer success stories.  But click through and read the details; none of the listed customers use HPA.

Funny, you’d think that a software product in general availability for thirteen months would have customers.
